Profumi di Voce – EPK (English)

Romantic fragrances

This album is conceived as a collection of arias that we love, from the repertoire that I particularly cherish.

From Gioachino Rossini to Reynaldo Hahn, passing by Charles Gounod or Claude Debussy, these arias and melodies plunge us into the heart of the 19th century, tinged with romantic fragrances.

About Alice Wielant

After earning a Master’s degree in violin, Alice Wielant decided to focus exclusively on singing as she had always imagined herself as an opera singer.

She studied at the Imep in Namur, where she received her Bachelor’s degree, and continued her opera singing studies with a Master’s degree at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels under the mentorship of baritone Lionel Lhote and at the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg (Germany) in the class of soprano Iride Martinez. She then worked with Hélène Bernardy at the Conservatoire de la ville de Luxembourg to hone her abilities.

In addition to being a member of the MM Academy at the Opéra de la Monnaie in Brussels, Alice is the winner of numerous competitions, including the international « Rita Gorr » competition in Ghent and Les Nouveaux Talents de l’Art Lyrique de Ans.

In Namur, Alice sang the title role in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, as well as Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana and Aïda excerpts, all under Guy Van Waas’ direction. She was employed as a young musician at the Encuentro de Santander Festival in Spain before performing on stage with the Belgian group Les Matelots de la Dendre. Additionally, she collaborates on stage with Belgian guitarist Maarten Vandenbemden.

At the Berlin Opera Academy, she performs Mozart repertoire in the roles of the second lady in Die Zauberflöte and the Contessa Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro. In Luxembourg, she performs Pamina as well.

Alice has recently performed on Belgian stages at the Marignan Theatre, Opéra Royal de Wallonie, Kaaitheater with the Brussels Operettetheater, and Volksopera in Antwerp.

In addition to being a multifaceted artist, Alice Wielant founded a jewelry line, works as a professional makeup artist who loves fashion, and teaches singing in numerous Belgian schools.
